Getting tired from changing batteries of your remote control? That will be something from the past because NEC Electronics has developed a prototype of battery-less remote control for TV: The remote uses the energy generated from the button-push actions. Those actions generate an electrical energy that satisfies to power ON/OFF the TV, to change volume or to switch channels.
Specifically, this battery-less remote control uses "Piezoelectricity" semiconductor from “Sound power generation” and it uses a new technology called: “Vibration power generation” which bases on vibration that occurs when you press the button on the remote control with your fingers.
According to NEC Electronics Company, this technology is being promoted to TV set manufacturers, to realize it into practical use by 2011.
This battery-less remote control will be a good solution to get rid of batteries (as they are environment pollutants) and use a green energy instead.
